"Walk for Lupus Now"

Join the Brothers of Upsilon Omega Chapter, Los Angeles Alumni, as we support the Los Angeles Walk for Lupus Now, being held on September 24, 2011 on Christmas Tree Lane at Exposition Park.
Please take some time to visit our Walk for Lupus Now team page. Lupus is a chronic, autoimmune disease that affects at least 5 million people throughout the world. In lupus, something goes wrong with your immune system, which normally produces antibodies that protect the body. But in this case the immune system cannot tell the difference between foreign invaders and your body’s healthy tissues and creates autoantibodies that attack and destroy healthy tissue. These autoantibodies cause inflammation, pain, and damage in various parts of the body.
It is our hope you’ll join Upsilon Omega Chapter, Los Angeles Alumni, of Iota Phi Theta Fraternity, Inc. as we support Walk for Lupus Now by helping us reach our goal. Funds raised by Walk for Lupus Now are used to support research, education, and support services for those affected by lupus. It’s easy to do – just click on the "Join Team" link and complete the registration process. You’ll be given a personal page that you can personalize with your reason for walking. Then as a team, we can work together to reach our goal!
